1Confetti Egg-Smashing in Mexico

If you thought glitter bombs were messy fun, you’ll love the Mexican tradition of cascarones. Historically, Spanish parents would punish a child by cracking a raw egg over their head. This egg tradition carried over into Mexico, but it’s far less messy and a lot more fun. On Easter Sunday, people will fill hollowed-out egg shells with confetti, then smash them over the heads of friends and family members.
