355 Days of Celebration in Ethiopia

Why have one day of festivities when you can have a few weeks of it? For many Ethiopians, the death of Jesus Christ is viewed as a more significant time than his birth, so they practice Fasika, a celebration of Easter that includes many days of fasting, very somber rituals, meditations, and vigils. All this culminates in the largest parties of the year on Easter Sunday. Ethiopians spend the day dancing, singing, and having community feasts.
