6Egg Fights in Serbia

Easter is celebrated on April 24 for Orthodox Christians, and in Serbia, it’s all about the eggs. Families create natural dye from onion skins, and then press flowers, leaves, or other natural elements to the eggs as they dry. This creates rust-colored eggs set with beautiful patterns. On Easter Sunday, Serbians host competitions to see whose eggs are strongest by smashing them against each other. Those lucky enough to have their eggs still intact are the winners.
