Wondering what to make with fresh-picked apples? These 10 family-friendly recipes will bring all the fall vibes to your table. Apple picking is a yearly tradition for us here in New England. It’s a great outdoor activity to do with family and friends, and it’s so much fun to pick your own produce off the tree. And the best part? The endless amount of fun fall recipes you can make with your apple bounty.

Apple season is in full swing in our part of the Northeast. I love going to local orchards for a fun day of apple picking and cider tasting, or grabbing a few fresh apples at farm stands down the road. Three years ago, we planted apple trees in the front of our homestead, and this is the first year we’ll be able to go apple picking in our own yard. I can’t wait to turn our apples into slow cooked apple sauce, apple pie waffles, and cheddar apple soup.

These 10 sweet and savory apple recipes include breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and desserts.

Harvest Apple Walnut Salad With Honey Dijon Dressing Recipe

This sweet and savory Harvest Apple Walnut Salad recipe gets top billing on my list. It’s a favorite salad on our table year-round, especially in the fall when fresh apples are in season. This salad combines apples with fresh spinach, toasted walnuts, chickpeas, and celery drizzled with a homemade sweet honey Dijon dressing. This is a fantastic salad to bring to a holiday gathering and always receives rave reviews.

Easy Caramel Apples

This super simple and versatile recipe for easy caramel apples takes a classic fall treat and let’s you add all your favorite toppings. The caramel sauce has just two ingredients, and you can load up your caramel apples with sprinkles, chocolate chips, nuts, or your favorite crushed candies. My personal favorite is caramel apples rolled in crushed toffee, making this one a fun and sweet treat.

Apple Cinnamon Baked Donuts

I love the simplicity of these homemade apple cinnamon donuts, baked right in your oven. These donuts are a fantastic breakfast or brunch recipe that you can make with a few fresh fall apples. Ready in less than 30 minutes and made with pantry staple ingredients, these donuts are a fantastic way to rise and shine. Save a trip to the bakery and treat yourself to homemade donuts instead.

Roasted Sheet Pan Chicken and Apples

Bright and flavorful roasted chicken and apples is a simple one-pan meal that couldn’t be easier to make. This chicken is loaded with a fresh herb and mustard dressing, making it a tasty meal with bold fall flavors. This savory apple recipe is one dinner staple you can enjoy all year long.

Slow Cooker Applesauce

Applesauce is always my go-to recipe to use up extra apples I have on hand, and I love this delicious slow cooker applesauce recipe from Nuts about Greens. It calls for nine apples, any variety you’d like, so feel free to mix and match. This is the ultimate “set it and forget it” recipe: add the ingredients into your slow cooker or crock pot, cook for 3-4 hours, and blend to the consistency you like.

Old-Fashioned Apple Crisp

This classic apple crisp recipe is made with fresh-baked apples and a crispy cinnamon sugar top. This makes a fantastic Thanksgiving or holiday dessert that everyone will love. Not only is this recipe simple to make in the oven, it’ll make your kitchen smell amazing while it bakes. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce for a tasty fall treat.

Apple Pie Waffles

I absolutely love this delicious apple pie waffles recipe that is made with leftover apple pie filling (a low sugar apple pie filling recipe is also included). It’s a simple autumn breakfast that takes about 15 minutes to make, and is loaded with sweet fall fruit. Apple pie filling is folded into the batter and cooked in a Belgian waffle maker to crisp perfection. Fluffy Belgian waffles with deep pockets are great for holding syrup, butter, powdered sugar, or even more sauteed apples.

Cheddar Apple Soup

Creamy and savory, this cheddar apple soup recipe is loaded with fresh fall produce: apples, sweet potatoes, onions, and spices. This is an adult-friendly recipe made with apple cider (you can use hard cider if you have it) and brandy for a wonderful depth of flavor. This soup can be made with or without bacon for a vegetarian option for your table, too.

Air Fryer Apple Chips

If you have an air fryer (I use mine on a weekly basis), these apple chips are a two-ingredient recipe that is ready in minutes. The thing I love most about this recipe is that the apple chips have the peel still on them. Leaving the peels on your apple recipes ups the nutrient content and saves you some time with the apple peeler. These delicious crispy apple chips are made with just apples and cinnamon and are ready in about 15 minutes.

Apple Cheesecake Bars

If you’re a fan of cheesecake, you have to make this decadent apple cheesecake bars recipe. It has a creamy cheese filling with a crumbly streusel top. Oh, and there’s a hot caramel drizzle on top, too. A fantastic dessert to take to a potluck, holiday party, or to make for a fun weekend treat.
