How Annie Overcomes It All

This post is part of a series of branded posts sponsored by BlueJeans. The focus of the series — part of a paid partnership between BlueJeans and CircleAround — is on women business owners and how they are navigating the complexities and challenges of contemporary business, from the pandemic to the economy. BlueJeans is the official video conferencing partner of CircleAround.

CircleAround readers got to know Annie LaVerdure-Weller this summer. That's when they met "Unstoppable Annie," the business coach who turned a bout with cancer into a burgeoning and booming new business, Anne Josette.

The uplifting story of the squamous-cell carcinoma survivor with low self-esteem who found solace and creative expression in her new business — which she launched to help other women in her scenario "learn how to cope with life's toughest moments" — touched a nerve with our readers, who were introduced to her through CircleAround's Women in Business series.

That video series documented, in four episodes, LaVerdure-Weller's interactions with business coach Thresette Briggs, Chief Performance Officer at Performance 3. Briggs' counsel helped LaVerdure-Weller organize her three different businesses, and helped her nurse the newest, Anne Josette, to where it stands today.

The journey moved so many of our readers that we sent one of our writers, Simbi Hall, to catch up with LaVerdure-Weller for a "where are they now" interview. (Note: LaVerdure-Weller had some Wi-Fi issues during the interview — hey, it's a pandemic, people.)

LaVerdure-Weller is one of the first participants in that video series, produced by CircleAround and its two partners, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and Verizon Business (the interview was recorded on Verizon's BlueJeans platform).
