This Blood Orange Vampire Punch is the ultimate creepy concoction to serve your Halloween guests. Your monsters and ghouls will love this family-friendly nonalcoholic punch that is fruity and sweet, with a devilish twist. Freshly squeezed blood oranges and sweet red cherries give this punch recipe a dark and spooky color. This punch is great for a Halloween get-together, a family scary movie night, or just a fun drink to make with the kids.

If you’ve never tried a blood orange before, October is the perfect month to give it a shot. Blood oranges are sweet citrus fruits that look like normal oranges on the outside, but have deep purple flesh in the center. My local grocery store has blood oranges in the late fall and winter months, and they are becoming more common in markets. You can buy fresh blood oranges and juice them yourself to make this punch, or use packaged blood orange juice in the refrigerated section of your supermarket.

Not only is the name blood orange perfect for a creepy Halloween drink, the color adds a scary pop to your punch. When blended with the dark cherries, you get a deliciously sweet and tart drink that is perfect for your little vampires. I like getting frozen dark cherries (and not maraschino cherries), which have a rich, deep color and is loaded with antioxidants.

This recipe is a spookier version of the classic Halloween punch I grew up having as a kid. I remember going to friends’ houses for trick-or-treating fun and having delicious bright orange punch. The sherbert gives it a creamsicle flavor, which makes this drink sweet and delightful. And I love the addition of the lemon lime soda, which gives the punch a nice effervescence.

You can serve this drink in a Halloween pumpkin bowl, a classic punch bowl, or in a beverage dispenser. If you want to get in the Halloween mood, you can even serve it in a hollowed-out pumpkin. If you want to serve this for an adult crowd, add 1 cup of Halloween spirits.
