Due to the pandemic, the ways we celebrate milestones and holidays have changed. Still, many people found creative alternatives to make the moments special — whether that was gathering on video conferences, having more socially distant meetups outside, or sending fun gifts. Amber Succés is the co-founder and CEO of Cotier Brand, an emerging party and home-entertainment company, and she has made it her life’s work to ensure our celebrations are everything we want and need them to be.
“Our brand all started with the idea of wanting to innovate in the baby-shower game space, where there hadn't been new offerings for years,” Succés tells CircleAround. “Our headquarters reside in the beautiful city of Austin, Texas, and I am happy to say, even nowadays, our mission is to bring people together, no matter if they’re near or distant.”
To come from corporate America and have no background in entrepreneurship, it felt incredible to be highlighted by a well-respected media outlet.
Cotier Brand puts a unique twist on baby-shower games and party products. They’ve expanded their line to include more party and home-entertainment products meant to inspire connection and relationship-building — like their Convokins, paper napkins with conversation-starter questions to help break the ice.
“One of the most exciting moments in my career was when our first product, Did Baby Poopie, was organically featured in PopSugar just a year after launching,” says Succés. “To come from corporate America and have no background in entrepreneurship, it felt incredible to be highlighted by a well-respected media outlet. This did so much for my confidence and encouraged me to keep pressing forward.”
Livening Up Baby Showers
“Some of our biggest highlights of running this company," adds Succés, "have been securing an online retail partnership with Target, being featured in PopSugar and Black Enterprise, and, most importantly, receiving pictures and videos of customers using our products at events."
Currently, Succés and her team are working on some new party products that can be played in-person and virtually. “The world has changed so much in the past year that now having a virtual component to an event or gathering is expected,” she explains. “We're really excited about this new opportunity because everything we do has ‘connection’ and 'relationship-building' in mind.”
While Cotier Brand is known for its entertainment aspect, Succés knows the skills required for the job go beyond a party-positive attitude. “The work that I do requires me to be extremely creative and imaginative but also system-focused and analytical,” she says. “It can be challenging for me at times to strike a balance — especially when my mind is racing with fresh ideas.”
“However, there's a great reward to playing well to both sides because I'm able to see the results of my creativity through happy customers.”
