Hailey Baldwin Bieber reveals that while she didn’t miss out on a social life because she was homeschooled, she does feel like she missed out on interacting with boys.

The 24-year-old model sat down with TikTok star Dixie D’Amelio on the second episode of the new YouTube series, The Early Late Night Show. When D’Amelio asked about Bieber’s upbringing, Bieber explained that she spent fifth grade, and some of sixth and seventh grade in classes with kids her age, but was homeschooled before fifth and after seventh grade.

"My parents either said, 'You go to Christian school or you homeschool.' There was really no choice in between," said Bieber. "They wouldn't let me go to public school. I actually wanted to go to a performing arts school in New York City, and they didn't want me to do that either. So, I just chose to stay home."

She emphasized that “when you're a teenager and your parents give you the option not to go to school, obviously you're gonna choose not to go to school.” She added that the “school was far away from our house” and so she “just didn't wanna deal with it.”

D’Amelio pressed the recent Vogue Brasil cover star on if she felt like she missed out on connections because of her homeschooling.

“I danced ballet every day for 12 years," shared Bieber. "And all of my socializing and my friends and interactions, for the most part, were there so I don't feel like I really missed out..."

Bieber did say she thinks she “missed out on interacting with boys," but joked that she thinks she’s “fine now.”

“I think I’m okay now, but it wasn't like, you know, when you're in high school, it's boys and girls — it's a different environment. But all my friends were from my dance school, so I didn't feel socially awkward in any way,” she said.

Her joke at being “fine” is a reference to her being married to pop star Justin Bieber, who she’s known for more than a decade and has been romantically tied to since 2018.

Of their relationship, Bieber told Vogue of her beau in 2019, that “we’re committed to growing together and supporting each other in those changes.”

“That’s how I look at it. At the end of the day, too, he’s my best friend. I never get sick of him,” she said.
