Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck Whip up Romance 2.0 Rumors and People Are Wild About It

Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck together

Prepare yourself for some serious early aughts emotional whiplash: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez may have reunited.

Dubbed as "Bennifer" in the media nearly 20 years ago, the old flames seem to have rekindled some of that old magic as they've been seen together in Montana for "several days," according to People. Presumably, they went to Big Sky where Affleck has a home.

“[Jennifer] spent several days with Ben out of town. They have a strong connection. It’s all been quick and intense, but Jennifer is happy,” an unnamed source told the publication.

They were later reportedly seen on a plane together back to Los Angeles and taken to Lopez’s Bel Air mansion. Prior to Montana, the duo were both at Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World, where Lopez performed. Affleck appeared on stage with Jimmy Kimmel.

No official romance announcement has been made, but the timing of Affleck and Lopez's reunion is particularly interesting. Previously, the now maybe-couple starred in films like Gigli and Jersey Girl together and were engaged for two years before they broke up in 2004. In recent years, Lopez was engaged to baseball star Alex Rodriguez and Affleck was involved with actress Ana de Armas. Both of those respective relationships fizzled out this year.

As one fan wrote on Twitter: "Nothing says 'true love' like rebounding to an old boyfriend right after calling off a long engagement. There’s no shame in the single game, ladies." Another quipped: "Like the cicadas, Bennifer returns every 17 years to haunt us."

While it certainly seems like Jen and Ben are on the road to recreating Lopez's iconic "Jenny From The Block" video, friends of theirs are already weighing in on how they feel about it.

Affleck's longtime friend and Good Will Hunting co-writer Matt Damon revealed on the Today show this week that he'd be happy about a reconciliation.

"It's a fascinating story. I hope it's true. I love them both. I hope it's true. That would be awesome," he said of the potential romance.
