All Mariah Carey wants … is for you to know it’s time for the holiday season!

The singer immediately went viral mere moments after Halloween came to a close when she posted a video to usher in the beginning of the Christmas season. In an extremely well-produced TikTok, Carey is seen strolling around in a sparkly red gown, holding a candy cane bat.

The video shows off Carey’s Halloween decor of a tombstone and pumpkins reading, “It’s not time” and, when the clock strikes midnight, she comes in with her minty weapon of choice to announce, “It’s time!” and destroy the pumpkin labeled “not.”

Obviously, her smash hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You" begins to play in the background and a note to fans reads: "To smash that pumpkin and treat it as pie … cause we still gotta get through Thanksgiving!!!" She also alludes to something dropping on November 5. Mariah, girl, we’re so excited!

Notably, in response to Carey’s video, the official account for the Guinness World Records tweeted at her to jokingly quip that she set the “new record for the earliest celebration of Christmas.”

And lest you think that Carey’s influence on holiday music and celebrating the holiday season isn’t substantial, let this data prove you wrong: Less than 90 minutes after she shared her TikTok and posted about it on Twitter, All I Want for Christmas Is You reentered the top 200 on U.S. iTunes.

Carey’s Christmas jam has been part of the soundtrack to the holiday season since 1994 when it was first released. It has since become “one of her signature numbers” and was even re-recorded in 2010 for her second Christmas album Merry Christmas II You, as per Rolling Stone. The New Yorker even previously described the song as "one of the few worthy modern additions to the holiday canon."
