Normal Grief Looks Like...

Grief looks like bargaining, depression, anger, denial, and acceptance (in no particular order). Right now, you may be moving in and out of various cycles of grief. Day by day, moment by moment, life is quickly changing. Grieving is a normal part of dealing with unexpected changes. Grief takes time. The more we try to avoid grieving, the longer the grief will remain. Allow yourself enough space and time to grieve.

Normal Grief Looks Like:

  • Feeling great one minute and falling to pieces the next.

  • Avoiding people and things that remind you of your loss.

  • Moving in and out of acceptance, denial, bargaining, anger, and depression.

  • Losing interest in activities.

  • A desire to be alone.

  • Feeling like no one else can understand the magnitude of your loss.

  • Not getting over your loss quickly.
