Apple Cider Recipe

This is a batch cocktail you can make the morning of your party.


  • 1 gallon unfiltered apple juice or apple cider
  • 1 large orange, cut into 1/4" pieces
  • 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 5 star anise
  • 1 tbsp. whole cloves
  • 1 tbsp. whole allspice
  • Optional: 750 ml bottles chilled brut Champagne


1. Using a spice ball or a cheesecloth with twine, combine cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves and allspice.

2. Place in a large pot, along with the apple juice and orange slices.

3. Bring to a boil, then turn down the heat to a very low simmer.

4. Let guests serve themselves in individual mugs, with the option of adding a shot of bourbon or rum for the spiked version.
