As spring break creeps closer, you may be crafting ways to keep the kiddos in your life entertained. Whether they’re your own children or you got roped into babysitting your favorite nieces and nephews, throwing on a movie can be a great way to wind down with the little ones. My favorite family movies appeal to both kids and adults, keeping everyone entertained. Here are the best family movies streaming on Amazon Prime right now (free with Prime membership):

1Sister Act

My generation grew up LOVING this movie. Lucky for us, it has aged well over the years. Whoopi Goldberg, in her prime, plays Deloris, a nightclub singer who witnesses a crime and needs to hide out in a convent. Between the music and the comedy, everyone in your home should be thoroughly entertained and enthralled.

2Troop Zero

In 1977 rural Georgia, a Christmas Flint (Mckenna Grace) has dreams of life in outer space. When a chance at her dream comes in the form of a competition, she gathers a makeshift troop of scouts to help her on her quest. Current and former Girl Scouts are sure to love this film that also features Viola Davis, Allison Janney, and Jim Gaffigan.

3Mr. Popper’s Penguins

Jim Carrey plays the titular Mr. Popper, a businessman who inherits six penguins. Kids will love to watch the penguins play as Mr. Popper transforms his apartment into a winter wonderland. Adults will be entertained by the comedic chops of Jim Carrey that we’ve all come to expect.

4Cinderella (2021)

Yes, this is another live action reimagining of Cinderella. Anyone who has a child in their life who is going through a princess phase will be happy to have a new version to throw on. Sure, you probably know the story, but it’ll be fun to compare it to the other iterations of the classic fairy tale to see where it ranks.

5Snow Day

Kids nowadays will never know the excitement of watching the snow day announcements on the local news as you watched the school names scroll by with the same nervous energy now reserved for lottery drawings. This snow day-themed movie can help capture that same magical energy for them while awakening the childhood nostalgia within you.
