'13 Going on 30' Fans Can't Get Over Christa Allen's Halloween Video
Prepare yourself with some Razzles: This 13 Going on 30 will have you feeling super nostalgic.
In celebration of Halloween, actress Christa Allen brought her character from the 2004 rom-com to her TikTok. In the movie, Allen portrays a teenage iteration of Jenna Rink while Jennifer Garner plays the 30, flirty, and thriving iteration of Rink. So, for Halloween this year, Allen got her hands on a replica of the dress Garner wears in the film and did the best thing possible with it: She made a movie montage.
The now-28-year-old Allen wore the dress to re-create the scene in the film where Garner prepares for a swanky magazine party. In the TikTok, we see her swiping on some lipstick and eyeshadow and happily getting ready to Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”
In two follow-up TikToks, Allen evokes Garner again by dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” — which Garner does alongside love interest Matty, a.k.a. Mark Ruffalo in the film — and imitating a snarky response she throws out to another magazine editor at that same swanky magazine party.
Fans raved about the re-creation videos, declaring “my childhood dreams came true” and “it’s crazy how you grew up to look like her,” in reference to Allen as an adult looking a lot like Garner.
And as if the throwback energy couldn’t get stronger, Allen’s co-star in the film, Alexandra Kyle, also hopped on the nostalgia train with a TikTok. In the film, Kyle plays the younger version of Lucy Wyman (a.k.a. Tom-Tom, who is portrayed as an adult by Judy Greer) and is Allen’s frenemy and bullies her in multiple scenes. One of those scenes is a party, just before Allen’s younger Rink transforms into Garner’s older Rink, and both Allen and Kyle wear perfectly ‘80s looks.
In response to a TikTok Allen made back in September evoking her look in that scene, Kyle re-created hers and dueted Allen’s video. The side-by-side of the two women, now adults, will have you doing a double-take. They’ve barely aged!
In honor of these early aughts memories, we think a rewatch is in order: Who’s with us?
