Blue Ivy Carter isn’t even in the double-digit age range yet, but she's already getting to work.

The older daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z is narrating the audiobook for the children’s book, Hair Love, by Matthew Cherry.

On Monday, Cherry tweeted a clip of the audio version of the 2019 book:

The book, which follows father-daughter duo Zuri and Daddy, is, as per Amazon, an “ode to loving your natural hair — and a celebration of daddies and daughters everywhere.” It was previously made into an animated short film with Insecure star and creator Issa Rae voicing the mother.

The short film, which also was released in 2019, went on to win Best Animated Short Film at the 92nd Academy Awards and was later ordered to a series titled Young Love by HBO Max.

Of the book and film’s creation, Cherry told the Chicago Sun-Times in December 2019: “You have a situation where Mom may have to go into work early and Dad has to get the kids ready. The gender norms that existed back in the day aren’t really the same as they are now.”

“I feel like everyone has to step up and get it done, he explained. "Black fathers have had one of the worst raps in mainstream media as being portrayed as being deadbeats and not being involved.”

As for Blue Ivy’s involvement in this audio project, it’s certainly not her first. Previously, she appeared in many of her mom’s music videos and films, including “Lemonade,” “Homecoming,” and 2020’s “Black Is King.” The 8-year-old even won a BET Award for collaborating with her mom on the single "Brown Skin Girl," making Blue Ivy the youngest winner of a BET Award ever. She went on to rack up another honor, the NAACP Image Award, for the same song.
