Are Brie Larson and Laurie Hernandez the Avengers duo we've been waiting for?

Last week, Hernandez rocked her first gymnastics meet since the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and she did it with serious power: The 20-year-old performed her routine in a Captain Marvel-inspired leotard.

The Olympic gymnast addressed her outfit choice in an Instagram post, telling fans, "Ok so I told some of y'all that my leos I designed for this year are all inspired by superheroes." She said the Captain Marvel look was the "first" and then asked Captain Marvel herself — Larson, who stars as the character in the latest Marvel films —"@brielarson queen do u approve?? #captainmarvel."

Larson responded to Hernandez's question on Twitter, sharing a screenshot of Hernandez's post and adding: "Consider this my formal stamp of approval!! Watching and wishing you strength in your return!"

To keep the lady lovefest going, Hernandez replied on Twitter to say thank you and added: "when the pandemic is over... we should play mario kart or zelda together." To that, Larson simply responded: "DONE."

Of her performance at the meet, Hernandez also replied to a fan who commented on her music choice for the routine and said she "was still a lil nervous for the first meet back so it wasn’t as expressive." She added, "however, my energy at 20 is quite different than my energy at 16. hopefully y’all can still enjoy it next time around."

Energy shift aside, we're excited to see the other superhero looks Hernandez has on deck, and we're guessing Larson is excited, too. #friendshipgoals
