Cameron Diaz Says Benji Madden Has Written 'A Dozen Songs' for Their Daughter
Cameron Diaz revealed that her partner Benji Madden has been hard at work writing new music because of his new muse — their daughter.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, alongside Who What Wear co-founder Katherine Power, Diaz talked about her and Power’s new brand Avaline and how they’ve been holding up amid the pandemic.
“In the last seven months," she shared, "I’ve entered the best phase of my life: motherhood! So it’s been all about my home and family. And I am trying to participate in a thoughtful way in the larger and most important conversation that our society is currently engaged in.”
When asked what albums Diaz and Madden have been listening to over the last few months, she explained that, because of her “little one,” Raddix, whom she gave birth to in January, “we are really jamming out to some dope Sesame Street jams."
"We got 'Baby Shark' in the mix, and of course Benj has written at least a dozen songs for her," she divulged. "So we are doing serious upbeat and often a cappella jams over here."
Madden is notably a member of the band Good Charlotte, so it’ll be interesting for fans to see what Raddix, who is his and Diaz’s first and only child together, has inspired.
Last week, Diaz talked to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show and further gushed about motherhood, calling her time in lockdown with her daughter and Madden “heaven.”
“Today is a new day and tomorrow will be a new day that she's a completely different baby, but it's so gratifying to actually get to see that growth and to be a part of it and to help just let her be her," she told Fallon, adding that parenting is "the best thing that ever happened to both Benj and I. We're just so happy."
