Chrissy Teigen is honoring the son she and husband John Legend lost with a permanent show of affection: a tattoo.

The model and cookbook author showed an image of the ink — the name Jack, written in cursive, on her wrist — in a tweet over the weekend.

The 34-year-old had been pregnant with her third child up until last month when she suffered pregnancy complications and the baby, whom she and Legend had named Jack, died. In an emotional post announcing the news, Teigen said she and Legend were “shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before.”

“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough,” she explained to fans. She went on to say that while she and Legend previously never decided “on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital,” they “for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack.”

"Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever."

“So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever,” she wrote.

A few weeks after the announcement, Teigen also penned an essay on Medium describing her grief and saying goodbye.

“I didn’t really know how I would start this, no matter the room or state I was in, but it feels right to begin with a thank you,” she wrote. “For weeks, our floors have been covered in flowers of kindness. Notes have flooded in and have each been read with our own teary eyes. Social media messages from strangers have consumed my days, most starting with, ‘you probably won’t read this, but…’. I can assure you, I did.”

She thanked fans and “every single person who has had us in their thoughts or gone as far as to send us your love and stories,” adding that she and Legend are “so incredibly lucky.”
