Kelly Clarkson Ordered To Pay Ex-Husband Nearly $200k a Month in Divorce

Kelly Clarkson now has to shell out a whole lot of money to ex-husband Brandon Blackstock every month: The singer was just ordered to give him nearly $200,000 per month in spousal and child support.

On Tuesday, a Los Angeles County judge handed down the order that calls for The Voice co-host to give Blackstock $150,000 per month in spousal support and an additional $45,601 per month in child support, according to a report in People.

Amounting to $195,601 in total per month, Blackstock will receive roughly $2.4 million from Clarkson a year on top of the $1.25 million she's been ordered to pay out for Blackstock's attorney fees and costs.

People also notes that a source had previously told them that "Blackstock had been aiming for more than double the amount in support, requesting that Clarkson pay him $436,000 per month ($301,000 in spousal support and $135,000 in child support)."

Clarkson is currently being represented by celebrity attorney Laura Wasser, aka the viper lawyer rumored to have been the inspiration for Laura Dern's character in Marriage Story.

The marriage between Clarkson and Blackstock lasted nearly seven years, with Clarkson filing for divorce in June 2020. The pair share two children together, a daughter named River Rose and a son named Remington Alexander.

The duo reportedly first met when Clarkson used to tour with Rascal Flatts. Blackstock used to tour manage the band. They later met again in 2012 at Super Bowl XLVI via Narvel Blackstock, Blackstock's father, and, coincidentally, Clarkson's manager. They'd go on to get married in 2013 at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee.

In a 2012 interview with Ryan Seacrest on his KISS FM Radio Show, Clarkson explained that she initially "didn’t really know he was (my manager’s) son and it was kind of weird."

"I was like ‘dude, I gotta know that guy.’ We were just in a room together, and then he came up and said he was from the same hometown as me and I was like, ‘oh we’re so getting married,’ I was so that girl. When he became single, I was on the prowl," she shared.
