Vaccinated Americans are about to get some super sweet news.

In the wake of Krispy Kreme's announcement that they'd be doling out free doughnuts to anyone who has been vaccinated in America, they've just announced that they'll be giving out TWO free doughnuts on Friday in honor of National Doughnut Day.

The brand revealed on Tuesday that they've handed out more than a whopping 1.5 million free doughnuts to Americans who have presented a valid vaccination card at participating locations since they announced the promotion in March. And they even said the goodness is slated to continue: They'll be giving out free Original Glazed doughnuts to anyone with a valid vaccination card through the end of 2021.

As for the double doughnut bonanza slated for Friday, June 4, Chief Marketing Officer Dave Skena said in a statement to CBS News, "On National Doughnut Day, stop by and enjoy any doughnut you want on us. And if you're helping us get past this pandemic by getting your COVID-19 vaccine, then THANK YOU and have a second doughnut on us."

The network reports that "any guests who have received at least one of the two shots of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, qualify for the promotion."

The Centers for Disease Control reports that a bit more than 62 percent of Americans have had at least one dose of a vaccine as of this week and that number appears to be slowly rising.

Outside of Krispy Kreme, many states and brands have been offering incentives for individuals to get vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Some of those incentives include California's contest that will award 15 selected people a $50,000 cash prize each. State health officials in Indiana say anyone vaccinated at a specific designated site will receive a box of Girl Scout cookies in tandem with their shot.
