Olympians Are Revealing All the Behind-the-Scenes Action on TikTok
Watching the Winter Games in Beijing live or pre-taped on TV is a great time. It’s so exciting to watch athletes at the top of their game from all around the world! But on the much smaller screen –specifically TikTok – there’s even more action to be had.
Many Olympians have taken to the video platform to share the goings-on within the Olympic village, their innermost thoughts about competing, and a lot more. Here are some of our favorite female Olympians to follow on TikTok to get all the Olympic tea.
1Team USA Snowboarder Maddie Mastro
Mastro is already becoming the queen of Winter Games 2022 TikTok. The 21-year-old, who hails from California, is competing in her second Olympic Games and, sadly, did not make it to the finals. Despite that, her daily updates – including this one on, uh, having to go to the bathroom at the top of a mountain – are consistently great to watch.
2German Snowboarder Leilani Ettel
Ettel has not one, but two separate TikTok pages where she shares all her thoughts about the Olympics. We were quite taken with this video by the 20-year-old where she shares the various pins from athletes from other countries that she’s traded and collected.
3Russian Figure Skater Evgenia Medvedeva
Medvedeva is a two-time silver Olympic medalist, and she is wildly famous on TikTok with over 2 million followers. Still, she stays down-to-earth, partaking in popular TikTok trends we all are guilty of trying out. Specifically, she did a “get ready with me” video that suddenly makes us feel like we, too, could be at the Olympics.
4Spanish Ice-Dancer Olivia Sophie Smart
Smart’s posts run the gamut and range from being funny to earnest. One of the 24-year-old’s more sincere videos follows her journey to the Games, including her flight and requisite COVID test, concluding with her gliding across the Olympic ice.
