Congrats are in order for Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who just welcomed their first child!

On Friday, the couple revealed the exciting news on Instagram with a joint statement. "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family," reads the statement.

While the duo has not revealed their baby’s name or sex, they have plenty of people supporting this major life change. In the comments of their statement, famous friends such as Kal Penn and Lilly Singh shared sweet messages to say, “Congratulations! Kalpen uncle is ready to babysit!” and “AYE!!!!!!!! Can’t wait to cuddle them!!!”

Chopra and Jonas have been married since 2018 after having a whirlwind romance. After having met in 2017, they got engaged mere months later and celebrated their nuptials in several large fêtes around the world.

Last year, Chopra sat down with The Sunday Times and talked candidly about starting a family with Jonas. She joked at the time that she wanted enough children to comprise a "a cricket team" — which is usually 11 people, for those who are unfamiliar. She later clarified: "I do want children, as many as I can have. A cricket team? I'm not so sure."

For Jonas’ part, he talked about his desire to be a dad in a 2018 interview on Spotify’s The Rewind With Guy Raz podcast: “I definitely want to be a father someday. I think that’s a real dream.”

“I think I’ve had to grow up pretty quick. With that, you could look at it two ways,” he said. “You could say that was unfair or you could say it’s given me some real perspective at an early age and I’ve seen a lot of life at an early age, and I hope to be able to share that with a kid of my own someday.”
