2Lynsi Snyder — $4B in Burgers

How She Did It: Lynsi Snyder is the only grandchild of Harry and Esther Snyder, who started In-N-Out Burger in 1948. The Snyders had two sons, one of whom was the heir apparent, but that son died in an airplane crash and Lynsi’s father died of a drug overdose. Today, Lynsi has managed a slow, steady, and successful growing operation. Her net worth is reported to be more than $4 billion.

Success quote: “I like that we're sought after when someone's coming into town. I like that we're unique, that we're not on every corner. You put us in every state, and it takes away some of its luster.”
